Course Details
Teaching a complex Tai Chi form such as the Beijing 24 requires a solid foundation in the understanding of Tai Chi concepts, with competence and confidence to impart this knowledge to others.

Pre-requisites
Applicants will have
Successfully completed the Level 1 Beijing 24 Instructor Training course
A sound knowledge of the complete Beijing 24 sequence
Have a background in teaching Tai Chi, in particular the Beijing 24 (to Punch Tiger’s Ears)
Level 2 Planning and Teaching Skills
At the successful completion of the Beijing 24 Instructor Training Level 2 course the student will
Understand different stages of learning
Be aware of different personality and learning styles
Develop appropriate class plans
Use mirror and participant image effectively
Use verbal and non-verbal cueing effectively
Use a variety of techniques to engage each student
Plan and deliver classes so goals are met
Provide a varied learning environment
Provide an inclusive and productive learning environment
Adapt the class plan to meet unexpected circumstances
Provide appropriate feedback
Use drills and repetition effectively
Provide appropriate exercises with modifications when required
Level 2 Administration and Workplace Health and Safety
At the successful completion of this course, the student will:
Follow appropriate health and safety procedures, including health screening
Work in an environmentally sustainable manner
Understand the responsibilities of confidentiality
Provide a safe, inclusive and friendly learning environment
Level 2 Tai Chi Skills and Knowledge
At the successful completion of the Beijing 24 Instructor Training Level 2 course, the student will:
Be competent and confident in the teaching of the complete Beijing 24 sequence
Use a variety of effective teaching strategies
Use effective drills that will consolidate principles of movement, directional change and transitional techniques.
